What is Aule?
Aule is a passenger information service born in Nantes, France. Its map brings door-to-door journeys, upcoming departures, vehicle positions and network disruptions together in one place. For operators, Aule Pro is a computer-aided operations and passenger information system (a SAEIV, in French) built on the same data.
Where does Aule work?
In Nantes and Loire-Atlantique. The Naolib network (tram, Busway, Chronobus, bus and Navibus) is the pilot network, and the department's Aléop coaches are integrated. Île-de-France Mobilités is under study; Lyon (TCL) and Bordeaux (TBM) are being considered, with no date announced.
Is Aule free?
Yes. The map, journeys and timetables are free and work without an account. Aule is published by a non-profit association: memberships and donations, when offered, are never a condition for using the service.
Do I need to install an app?
No. The map opens in your browser, on a computer or a phone. The iOS and Android apps are in preparation: they will add alerts during your journey, such as your vehicle approaching or when to get off.
Are timetables and positions live?
When the network publishes live data, yes: departures and positions update continuously. Otherwise Aule does not make them up: the position is estimated from the timetable, and the map says so. The day's timetables, weekends and engineering works included, come from the data published by the network.
Where does the data come from?
From the open data each network publishes itself: the timetable in GTFS format and, where it exists, live data in GTFS-RT, credited with their licence. The map is based on OpenStreetMap, address search on the IGN Géoplateforme and weather on Open-Meteo.
Is Aule the official Naolib app?
No. Aule is published by the association AULE SYSTEM and does not sell tickets. It relies on the network's open data; if there is a discrepancy, the operator's official information prevails.
Do I need an account?
No: the map, search and routes open without signing up, in your browser. An account adds your places, your favourites and updates on the lines you follow. Professionals request access to Aule Pro, which an administrator validates before opening the areas for their profile.
How do I report an error?
Write to contact@aule.fr, stating the line, the stop, the time and what you saw, along with your device or browser. For an account problem, give the email address you used — never your password.
My network isn't covered: what can I do?
Let us know at contact@aule.fr, stating the city and the network. Aule opens a network when its data allows the map to keep its promises: the day's timetables, the routes of the lines, and live data when the operator publishes it. Operators and transport authorities will find the process on the Networks page.
What is Aule Pro?
Aule's computer-aided operations and passenger information system (SAEIV). It brings fleet supervision, trip regulation, incidents and passenger information together in a single web control room, extended by an app for drivers, currently in a pilot phase. Its areas are restricted to authorised profiles: drivers, dispatchers, operations, ticket inspection and administration.
Who publishes Aule?
AULE SYSTEM, a non-profit association under the French law of 1 July 1901, based in Nantes. The legal notice gives the details of the publisher, its RNA number and the site's host.
What does Aule do with my data?
Only what is necessary. The map works without an account and without geolocation; if you turn it on, your position is used to centre the map and is not linked to your account. Aule does not sell your data or use it for targeted advertising. You can exercise your rights at contact@aule.fr, and the Account deletion page explains how to delete yours.
